Checking sends one request to Cloudflare’s own trace endpoint at 1.1.1.1, which sees your public IP, as any site you visit does. It answers over IPv4, so an IPv6-only network can’t use it. Browsers cannot read your local LAN address; use the Subnet tool for local math.
